Dr. Ronghui Ma, the Undergraduate Program Director of the ME department and co-Director of the ME S-STEM Scholarship Program, was invited to give a seminar to students in the Howard Community College on March 15th, 2018. This is part of our recruitment effort to introduce the ME program to community college students and describe scholarship opportunity such as the ME S-STEM Scholarship to them. Dr. Ma described the scholarship opportunity at UMBC, special features of the ME S-STEM Scholarship Program, as well as ongoing research projects in her laboratory at UMBC. The seminar was well attended by HCC students and they asked many questions related to the talk. Dr. Ma encouraged them to contact us if they have further questions regarding the transfer process to UMBC.
