Annual Retreat to Welcome Scholars Back and Workshop
After a long 18 months staying at home working, faculty and students at UMBC returned to campus for the Fall 2021 semester. The ME S-STEM scholarship program held an annual retreat on September 3rd, 2021, in the virtual setting during the transition. All ME S-STEM scholars and their mentors attended this event. Dr. Zhu first welcomed all scholars and gave a presentation on the ME S-STEM Scholarship Program history, activities, and expectations. All faculty mentors in the program described their research and teaching at UMBC. Finally Dr. Eggleton gave a workshop on importance of pursuing graduate degree, typical graduate school application process, and general milestones of graduate student life.
We welcome everyone back on campus. We are looking forward to seeing you in person in class rooms and offices. Let's wish the best that everything will be back to normal soon.
