Spring 2022 Research Seminars
We were delighted to invite two outstanding researchers to give the students and faculty of the ME department seminars to share their ongoing research projects. Professor Paris R. von Lockette, ASME Fellow, from the Penn State University gave a virtual seminar on "The Magneto-Active Composites and Structures (MACS) Lab: Additive Manufacturing, Soft Robotics, and Biomedical Devices" on April 5th, 202. On April 14th, 2022, Dr. Fariba Mohammadi at the University of Kansas provided an online presentation of her research on "A Novel High-Order Finite Element Mesh Generator for Modeling and Simulation in Computational Mechanics". The audience including faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students in the ME S-STEM scholarship program enjoyed the seminars and learned a lot on industrial applications of mechanical principles as well as the broader impacts of engineering on other fields.
