Mr. Jacob Lombardo presented research in SB3C conference
UMBC Freshman, Mr. Jacob Lombardo, attended the Summer Biomechanics, Bioengineering, and Biotransport Conference (SB3C) and presented his research project. Jacob is also a Mechanical Engineering S-STEM scholar. He has been supported by the NSF S-STEM grant to conduct research in Dr. Liang Zhu's lab in the past semesters at UMBC. Working with graduate students in the lab, he conducted research related to experimental and theoretical investigation on cooling penetration into tissue using a surface cooling pad for relieving pain of patients after surgery. Job well done, Jacob!
The S-STEM grant also provided fund to support his travel to the conference.
