ME S-STEM Scholars Presented Research at SB3C Conference
undergraduate students attending research conference
ME S-STEM scholars, Mr. Peter Dillon and Mr. Amirreza Saharkhiz, presented their research work at the Summer Biotransport, Bioengineering, and Biomechanics Conference (SB3C) in beautiful Snowbird, Utah in June 2015.
Both students were working with FDA sponsored research projects related to evaluation of accuracy of digital thermometers. Mr. Dillon graduated from our program and currently is working as an engineer in Northrop Grumman in Maryland, and Mr. Saharkhiz continues to work as an undergraduate researcher in the Bioheat Transfer Laboratory at UMBC (bioheat.umbc.edu). Congratulation!
Their trips have been supported by the FDA, the ME department at UMBC, the ME S-STEM Scholarship Program, and research grants in the Bioheat Transfer Laboratory at UMBC.
