ME S-STEM Scholars Attending the Annual URCAD
It was exciting to see many undergraduate students presenting their research results on the annual Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement Day in the University Center on April 25, 2018. One of the undergraduate students is our ME S-STEM scholar, Mr. Lucas McCullum, who presented his research work using PZT sensors to screen tumors. Mr. McCullum's research has been supported by UMBC Undergraduate Research Award and ME S-STEM scholarship program. He has demonstrated the feasibility of using PZT sensor to distinguish a hard tumor from its surrounding healthy tissue and the signals received are sufficiently strong for the detection. Congratulation! Job well done!
